About Us. Devon Appliances is a trading name of PB Home Solutions Ltd registered in England 5697611. VAT registration No. 815771223. These Conditions and the Contract shall be subject to and construed in accordance with the Law of England. They will only apply to transactions made between Devon Appliances and retail customers. Orders placed by a company or fall under classification of trade accounts, are subject to different terms of sale available on request.

Acceptance of orders. The Company give no assurance that the information supplied to the customer by way of description and/or illustration is correct and accurate. It remains the responsibility of the customer and/or the end user or their agent to determine the suitability of the goods for the required application. You must check the acknowledgment for accuracy and report if any item is not as originally ordered immediately.

Prices. All prices include VAT which is charged at the rate prevailing at the time of dispatch. If a pricing mistake is discovered pertaining to your order prior to any payment you will be contacted immediately. You will then have the choice of accepting the corrected offer, ordering another make and model or have your order cancelled and any money paid refunded in full. Prices are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect orders that are the subject of a sale confirmation.

Payment. When you place your order, we take full payment for the goods unless otherwise requested. We also accept cheques; however, all cheques must clear the bank before the order is dispatched. This will add a minimum of 5 working days to your delivery date. Cheques must be made payable to PB Home Solutions Ltd.

Contract. There will be no contract of any kind until payment for the goods is authorised by your bank or credit card insurer. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason. At the moment that payment for the goods is authorised, (and not before), a contract will be made between you and us. Authority for payment must be given at the time of the order.

Credit Card Security. For your protection, delivery should be to the address to where the credit card is billed. If there is a genuine reason for delivering to a different address, please advise us in writing. We will need to see proof of your connection to the delivery address. It is important that you inform your credit card company that you are ordering goods for delivery to a different address than the invoice address.

Delivery. All delivery times quoted are an estimate and are subject to change. Delivery charges where applicable will be quoted and acknowledged by email or in writing. Delivery will be made by 2 men, help on site will be required for range cookers, American fridge-freezers and any other items that is outside health and safety guidelines. Due to insurance restrictions deliveries can only be to the ground floor. Please let us know of any problematic aspects of delivery, i.e.: steps, narrow doorways, soft pathways, road access. We reserve the right to refuse delivery where, in our reasonable opinion, it would put our drivers at risk. An example of such a situation would be where a driver is requested to carry a heavy range cooker over part of a building site.
On Built in items we Remove the plinths and panel doors of the old appliance. Connect the new appliance to existing pipe work or electrical supply. Basic carpentry work (additional holes, cutting work surface for a bigger hob) Additional charges may apply. Level the appliance and fit in space. Fit the existing panel door to the new appliance. Remove the old appliance. (Chargeable) Devon Appliances will guarantee all installation work for 28 days.

If a failed delivery occurs, which is not attributable to the company, a charge of up to £60 will be made for a subsequent delivery.

Damages. In order to assist you, we recommend that you report any damage or faults as quickly as possible. If there is a subsequent problem with the goods, please contact us. We will deal with the matter in accordance with your legal rights. If you keep the goods for too long before making a complaint you may lose some of your rights.

Guarantee. All appliances have a full manufacturer's warranty which is 1 year unless otherwise stated. This is in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer under the sale of goods act relating to faulty or mis-described goods. Extended warranties may be subject to registration with the manufacturer, which often must be done within a certain time period, for e.g., within 30 days of purchase. All servicing and repairs are provided by the manufacturers who all operate a nationwide service network. In the rare case that a new appliance is considered to have a manufacturing fault, Devon Appliances will exchange the appliance as soon as possible but in all cases an appliance will not be deemed to be faulty until the manufacturer or their service agent has inspected the appliance. Should the appliance prove not to be faulty, or should the fault prove to be due to poor or incorrect installation then the manufacturer or their agents may wish to levy a call-out charge to the customer for their time. Please be aware that any domestic products purchased and installed in commercial settings will have their warranties made null and void.

Refunds. Refunds will be made within 30 days of notification, by the same method used for the purchase.

Cancellations and Returns. Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you have the right to cancel you order at any time from the moment you place your order to up to 7 days of receipt of your goods, without giving a reason. This right does not apply to customers who transact in our showroom, nor does it apply to trade customers. To do this please email us or write to us. You must also pay the cost of returning the goods and this is non-refundable. If you are unable to return the goods yourselves, we can arrange for this to be done on your behalf at a cost of £49.95. This charge reflects the cost of collection. Under the Distance selling directive you as the customer have a duty of care for the product whilst it is in your possession. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods whilst in your possession and this results in damage or deterioration; or if parts (including packaging) are missing, we reserve the right to charge you for this. This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights if for example the goods are mis-described or faulty.
